I shot these photos of Sierra Kusterbeck, who sings in the band Versa Emerge, backstage at Bamboozle East in New Jersey in May of 2011. I was there on assignment for Alternative Press. Sierra is a friend of mine and a total sweetheart. She let me take a few shots of her while she was there hanging out. I think both of these photos sum her up.

True story: One time I was on stage with New Found Glory, Marky Ramone, and Hayley Williams. Really cool moment. I think it was equally cool for Hayley too. Ok maybe not AS cool. I shot this pic of Hayley looking on.

Anyone recognize this guy? He came out to announce Forever The Sickest Kids at Bamboozle this last year. He played Kevin Myers in American PIe. Which is cool. What’s even cooler is he’s also the kid from the movie Rookie of the Year (for those of you who are old enough to remember that movie!) Good ol’ Henry Rowengartner. He apparently is in the Thomas Ian Band also! haha

When I was at Bamboozle this year the rumor was that Hayley Williams was there and that Paramore were going to be the secret band. I had run into Andrew McMahon from Jack’s Mannequin back stage and had seen his piano on stage (super easy piano to recognize if you have ever seen them) so I knew that Paramore was not the big secret. However I knew Hayley was there because she was tweeting about it and hanging out with her boyfriends band (New Found Glory) who WERE playing.
I got word that they were doing a secret signing at the Fueled By Ramen tent so I went to check it out. Her and her two other bandmates were there signing. Her manager is kind of a jerk and pretty short with people but let me take pictures for about 5 seconds. Enough for 4 snaps. She wasn’t even in two of the pics I took because people were walking by. However… this was one of the two pics I got to snap of her. I got lucky and got this adorable pic.
